COVID restrictions, mask rules set to ease in Victoria this week, Daniel Andrews says

Victoria has recorded a fourth consecutive day with no new cases of COVID-19, paving the way for restrictions to be further eased later in the week.

Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed there were no new local or overseas acquired cases recorded on Tuesday, following 17,270 tests.

There remain 25 active cases of COVID-19 across the state, including one person who is in hospital but no longer in intensive care.

Thousands, however, remain in self-isolation after coming into contact with cases linked to the Holiday Inn outbreak.

A total of 22 cases have been traced back to a family of three staying on the third floor of the Melbourne Aiport hotel in early February, who contracted the highly-infectious UK strain of the virus overseas.
